SDI and the local governance - contribution to the Geospatial Technology Conference devoted to the Local Governments

Impact of INSPIRE and opportunities provided by UN SDI framework to the Local Governments
This is the title of the contributed paper sent by UN SDI HUCO to the Organising Committee of the 9th Geospatial Technology Conference will be held in Debrecen, April 19-20, 2006.
The aim is to raise the awareness on the INSPIRE Directive's direct and indirect impacts on the institutions having responsibility in governance on local level.
Proven and best practices in the EU Member States will be introduced based on the most recent meetings such as the EUROGI Members' Day held in Prague and the INSPIRE-UN SDI Consultative Meeting hosted by the Unit SDI of the European Commission's DG JRC in Ispra.
Meantime, the possibility to join the ongoing international project driven by Spain will be prepared by UN SDI HUCO and HUNAGI.
