1. "United Nations International UN-SPIDER Workshop: Space-based Information and Solutions for Disaster Management and Support" The Information Note for the above workshop, to be held in Bonn, Germany from 29 - 31 October 2007, has already been posted to the UNOOSA website. It can be downloaded from the following web page:

The deadline for sending us your application form is 27 August 2007. There are two additional workshops being planned and we expect to finalise the Information Notes soon so that you can then decide which workshop(s) is/areof interest to you. We would be grateful if you could circulate this information to colleagues and known experts who could also benefit and contribute to this plannedworkshop.
2. GMOSS International Summer School 2007 This year's GMOSS International Summer School 2007 will be dedicated tothe theme of "Early Warning and Monitoring of Agreements" and will be hosted by the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca Facultad de Informáticaand European Satellite Center and supported by Salzburg University's Centre for Geoinformatics (Z_GIS) as partner of the EC FP6 Network of Excellence Global Monitoring for Security and Stability GMOSS (
http://gmoss.jrc.it/).
This is a short intensive course with an open registration policy. All interested participants are welcome to Madrid from 2 - 9 September 2007.Check out further information on the following web page:

Even though the registration deadline has already passed they will beexceptionally considering registrations they receive by 15 August 2007. Applicants from Latin America in particular are encouraged to apply.Regards, David
